The Penthouse at Smith Tower by Graham Baba Architects

Built in 1914, the Smith Tower was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi upon its completion. No expense was spared in the construction of this ambitious 462-foot-tall building, with interiors finished in rich materials and ornate detailing. Today, this iconic figure in the Seattle skyline houses offices and commercial spaces topped by an observation deck on the 35th floor, and above that a one-of-a-kind two-story penthouse apartment tucked into the pyramid-shaped peak. Colossus Apartment by YODEZEEN

The Colossus Apartment project designed by YODEZEEN is a space for a young man who enjoys an everyday view of Kyiv’s historic downtown from the height of the 19th floor. The apartment is located in the residential complex “Skyline” of the green Pechersk district, which is rapidly being built up now. The entire apartment, 127 square meters, is occupied by a master bedroom with an adjoining bathroom, a dressing room, a guest bedroom with a bathroom, and a kitchen combined with a living room. Our client fully trusted the vision of our designers. Therefore the project was executed as it was envisioned: including the choice of pedestals and lamps. Photography by Andrii Shurpenkov.

Camp Frio by Tim Cuppett Architects

A multi-family compound rises from a remote, grassy valley on the bank of the Frio River deep in the Texas Hill Country. The goal for this project designed by Tim Cuppett Architects was to create shelters with an environmental experience unique to its place where Summer madness gives way to Winter stillness. Where city life and digital stimulation are replaced by the experience of feeling a cool breeze or snuggling up to a warm fire. Photography by Paul Finkel, Whit Preston.

Kenny Street House by Chan Architecture Pty Ltd

Located on a former farmland site in Balwyn, the Kenny Street House designed by Chan Architecture Pty Ltd is a unique project in that the site is a relatively large, flat site surrounded by much smaller houses in the middle of suburban Melbourne. The new house makes reference to its agricultural origins via its’ barn-like external form and its’ location towards the centre of the site, similar to the location of the original homestead.
