Nautical sports development promotion center by Rómulo Neto Arquitetos

The project designed by Rómulo Neto Arquitetos was developed from the moment we accepted the invitation made by the Câmara Municipal of Vagos, to remodel a deactivated primary school, reproduced throughout our country on a large scale in the 20th century, between 1941 and 1969, at the time of the ‘Estado Novo’. Ficus Apartment by Angá Arquitetura

Ficus Apartment is a project designed by Angá Arquitetura. The client loves gathering friends and family and throwing parties, so a large and open apartment was a necessity for hosting everyone comfortably. The building is from the 70’s and the apartment’s floor plan didn’t seem to have undergone major renovations. It had a very large staff room, three bedrooms, and the kitchen was isolated. We proposed a more contemporary layout that would meet the client’s needs. Photography by Carolina Lacaz.

L. Studio by AODA Design

L. Studio is a project designed by AODA Design. In the suburban area of Taipei, Beitou, L. Studio emerged from the 88-square-meter basement of a building that dates to 1990s. Rooted in the dampness, the severely deformed magnesium oxide boards once covered most part of the property. As anticipated, natural light could only be transmitted through the opening of the patio. The team was tasked with transforming this shady subterranean space into an open and airy studio for kids’ studying and the owner’s art creating session. Photography by Jackal Liu Photography.

Tall House by WILLIAM TOZER Associates

Tall House by WILLIAM TOZER Associates. From the exterior, the scheme appears as large brick box hollowed away on two sides to reveal its white interior. To one of these sides, glazed sliding doors with minimal black frames maintain the appearance of an open void–while the other open side rests on an elongated white volume that extends into the interior. This sculptural volume accommodates cupboards and appliances to the kitchen, which is partially separated from the open-plan dining space by an island. Photography by WILLIAM TOZER Associates.
