P26 apartment designed by Balbek Bureau is a former equipment room converted into a living area. The space benefited from a high ceiling, up to 6m in places, however it had some disadvantages as well, such as a sloping ceiling that complicated the design implementation. The Compound designed by Javelin Block was a Multi RIBA award winning restoration project – a 10,000 sq. ft former textile factory converted into a multifunction creative space used by some of the leading players in the film, music and media industries. Features include bridges, balconies, mezzanine floors, a 25 seat cinema, speakeasy bar, art studio and three self-contained living spaces across multiple levels. Photography by TOM BIRD.
Located in a residential area in West Jakarta, Indonesia, this house occupies a 300 sqm plot of land. Inhabited by a small young family with 2 kids, it was made with careful attention to owner’s family activities during the course of the day. Don Pieto and Henny Suwardi of DP+HS Architects emphasize interlocking space to connect different activities between spaces.
In a former warehouse, i29 interior architects realized this 600 m2 house including 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and a large open living area. A simple material palette of concrete, white walls and rough oak wood matches the industrial space. Custom designed cabinets throughout the house function as both storage as well as separation walls.
