Goenetxe Baserria is a project designed by BAT Architecture. Set amidst the lush rolling hills of Gipuzkoa, where serenity permeates the landscape, the historic Goenetxe farmhouse rises once again. This emblematic building, once a noble family residence, as evidenced by the original coat of arms still proudly displayed on its façade, and later repurposed as a livestock barn, has been reborn. Now, it stands as a refined dialogue between Basque tradition and the demands of contemporary life. Photography by Erlantz Biderbost.

Montauk by SAOTA
Located between Old Montauk Highway and the Atlantic Ocean, this beach house designed by SAOTA is carefully embedded into the steep, rugged bluff that defines this stretch of coastline. Designed by South African architecture studio SAOTA, the house responds to a desire to preserve the characteristic landscape. From the street, the building is barely visible, with only the upper portion revealing itself. This visible element subtly echoes the local barn vernacular, anchoring the house in Montauk’s architectural language while maintaining a low, respectful profile within the landscape. Broadview Residence by KO Architecture
Broadview Residence by KO Architecture. When it came time to build a home, this Seattle couple knew they wanted a simple yet flexible design that would support their family now (they have a daughter who’s still in school) as well as into their retirement years. The challenge was how to satisfy their quality of space needs and the daunting task of building on a budget. Photography by Sozinho Imagery.
Blatto by GO’C
Blatto Boat designed by GO’C is a new Floating On Water Residence (FOWR), commonly known as a houseboat, on the north end of Lake Union, constructed within the bounds of an existing boat. Constrained by the over-water footprint of the existing boat, Blatto Boat comes in at a narrow and long 12’x40’. Working with a nautical engineer from the initial design phases GO’C was able to understand the vertical constraints, hull size, and ballasting required. The project became very much a three dimensional puzzle – how do you factor in all the elements of a conventional home in a very unconventional space? This became a study of tiny living at its finest and resulted in a design in which all elements are fully considered and integrated much like they would in a ship’s cabin.

Project Brief:
When the client purchased this three-storey house in midtown Toronto, it was badly in need of repair after having been largely neglected for years. It had a 60’s studio vibe that needed to be updated to create a warm and adaptable space for the family. Photography by Scott Norsworthy.

Nestled in Sydney’s inner west, this once humble worker’s cottage has been exquisitely transformed into a light-filled sanctuary that gracefully balances heritage charm with contemporary sophistication. Originally defined by spatial constraints and a lack of natural light, the home has been reimagined through a thoughtful, design-led renovation that champions openness, material warmth, and refined functionality.
