Reimagined Mid-Century Living by Kim Gordon

Kim Gordon has just completed a new project in Laurel Canyon, an enclave in the Hollywood Hills that came to fame in the 1960s as home to Carole King, Jim Morrison, Neil Young, Brian Wilson, Joni Mitchell and many others.

Today Kim has completely reimagined this mid-century home into a luxurious retreat that incorporates elements she is best known for: Steel-framed windows, hand-troweled plaster walls and ceilings, wood floors and impossible-to-improve-upon indoor/outdoor integration throughout.
Gem set amid towering agave plants and old-growth trees that provide complete privacy, Kim created private outdoor patios for each of its three bedrooms. Honoring the neighborhood’s bohemian past, she incorporated vintage textiles, hand-thrown ceramics and as well as modern-day elements such as all-matte-black kitchen appliances.
