House in the Forest by architect Michael Zanghelini

A bold, intelligent and fully functional project: the House in the Forest, designed by architect Michael Zanghelini, is one of the great highlights of CASACOR SC 20203. The entire space measures 350 square meters and was completely designed to “be in communion with nature” , as defined by the professional himself. Photography by Mariana Boro.

In fact, this harmony reminds us of a dance performance, with materials, solutions and textures giving shape and color to the space. In the garden, for example, there is the gentle movement of waterfalls. As you walk a little further, the art of encounter takes place with three other striking elements: the earth (the levels of the house give the sensation that it is emerging from the ground), the fire, in the external fireplace, and the air, which enters through openings strategically planned by the professional.

“The four elements communicate. In fact, everything around here talks to each other and this is the result of working together. We are facing a large-scale architecture, with a facade measuring 32 linear meters. It was a real ballet to make everything work “, comments Michael.

According to him, the work was complex – it involved different teams and skills, from the structure to the landscaping. “We managed carefully so that everything happened in synergy”, he comments. The project even included the eyes of engineer Diogo Garcia, from Ângulo Engenharia. “We take care of all the construction processes, from moving the earth to the pillars. We guarantee the quality of what we do through the union of different forces”, highlights Michael.

In relation to the structure, several existing elements were used on site. The environment is grateful, as the use of new resources has been dispensed with in many areas. The material that stands out is, without a doubt, fitted biriba wood (also painted black).
