Ílhavo House by M2.senos_arquitetos

Ílhavo House is a project designed by M2.senos_arquitetos. All around you can still feel the old farm fields, but this is still a very urban house. The owners inherited the land from their grandparents and decided to build this house on it. A ground floor (or predo minantly ground floor) house that accomplishes the family´s desires. The parcel, with little depth, extends slowly along the street, almost disappearing around the curve. Photography by Ivo Tavares Studio

Bay Heights by Upstairs Studio Architecture

Bay Heights is a project designed by Upstairs Studio Architecture. The home on Bay Heights, for a single guy and his toys, was a renovation of an existing mid-century house. The house was built in the 50’s but unfortunately did not possess any of the qualities of the homes of the era that we would consider modern. The challenge was to take advantage of the existing structure and renovate it into a mid-century “modern” house. Photography by Claudia Uribe.

It also had a large basement and car-space, a 3:1 FSR, a 12m height limit and mixed-use zoning. Photography by Brett Boardman.
